Karma Yoga from Isavasya Upanishad

Isavasya Upanishad

कुर्वन् एवेह कर्माणि
  जिजीविषेत् शतँ समाः
एवं त्वयि नान्यथेतः
  अस्ति न कर्म लिप्यते नरः

Vivekananda Swami once said that if you want spiritual growth, play football well. Here he is talking about निष्काम कर्म no agitation when you are in field of life playing your role of husband, wife, brother, sister, son etc. They are but roles keep changing. When i was a child my parents are major part of world. When i am fifty my kids are. But everyone keeps changing. Kids grow and move. Spouse dies. Roles are not permanent.  Then what is permanent. Reflect on this

The Upanishad says
Act such that there is no stain on your personality. Live hundred years doing work with no internal agitation.

This is possible with right living.

Bhagvad Gita 2:41
व्यवसायात्मिका बुध्दिः
   एकेह कुरुनन्दन ।
बहुशाखा हि अनन्तश्च
  बुध्दयः अव्यवसायिनाम् ॥

कुरु means do. O son of doer , Arjuna, by proxy you and me are addressed here. The world I live is a field of doership. Sri Krishna , a teacher of Yoga, is pointing to effective action.
व्यवसायम् meaning any resolute action requiring many steps. Focussed action, but intellect is being described. In the field of action with many pulls and pressures, Buddhi needs to be resolute, single pointed. If it is many branched, the thoughts go here and there. Therefore effects of actions do not yield.

A Mahatma said that allocate 1/2 hour for worry. But rest of your awake time work without worry. When an impertinent thought comes, acknowledge but do not own the thought and point to the appointment.

Practice this as Krishna our teacher says so.
