Meaning of " Sabha Pati" in Namakam

In Sundarakanda of Valmiki Ramayana,  Lord Hanuman finds mother Seeta under Simsupa tree after much searching and passing many tests:  She is in a garden of no sorrows (अशोक वन), but she is full of sorrow, has not eaten and takes shallow breaths (उपवास कृशां निःश्वसन्तीं पुनः पुनः).  She wears a single long piece of yellow cloth (पीतेन एकेन संवीतां); she waits for Lord in a dream like state. She listens to the singing of her story, but she thinks she is dreaming

Mahatmas say that we are not fully awake when we completely identify with only the body and mind. The yellow color of the mother's cloth  represents earth element. Earth element also indicates presence of the remaining four elements: space, air, fire, water. You and I implicitly wear yellow cloth. Each jeeva is an assembly of various organs with their respective functions (assembly =  सभा)    The great teacher, Adi Sankara says,  Jeeva is not assembly of forces (न भूत संघः).  Essence of it is Truth, Substratum of every thing, bliss and the fourth (Tuuriyam). Aadi  Sankara says that you are not merely an assembly of organs and but instead a projection of the Sat Chit Bliss (Sat Chit Parama Sukham Tuuriyam).

Sri Namakam (part of Rudram) enumerates qualities of Lord in 3rd anuvaaka:   Lord is lord of assemblies (सभा पति). He is also Ashva pathi (अश्वपति). श्वः (sva) means tomorrow and Asva pathi meaning Lord of no tomorrows.
Namakam says:
Namah Sabhaabhyah
 Sabhaapatibhyah namah
Namah asvebhyah
Asvapathibhyaschavo namah

Jeeva will have many tomorrows as long as identification with the Sabha exists.  After much struggle the mother Seeta  unites with the Lord. In fact, Yuddha Kanda is very large piece of work in Ramayana (bigger than Sundara Kanda in verses), The story of Ramayana contains many such suggestions on spiritual path.
